Post Jihad Media Build Audience in the West

The NYC Times, October 20, 07
Unlike Usama ben Ladin, the bloggers are not operating from a remote location …One of them is 21 year old Samir Khan, born in Saudi Arabia (and grew up in NYC in middle-class America ), who produces his blog from his parents home in North Carolina .
He serves as a kind of Western relay station for the multimedia productions of violent Islamist groups . He posts scholarly treatises arguing for violent jihad , translated into English …He lists hundreds of links to secret sites from which his readers can obtain the latest blood-drenched insurgent videos from Iraq or Afghanistan … His neatly organized site called Inshallahshaheed (a martyr soon if God wills) also includes a file called „US of Losers“ where you can see an US soldier hiding during the ambush like a child …
While there is nothing to suggest he is operating in concert with militant leaders, or breaking any law,he is part of a growing constellation of independent media operators who are broadcasting the message of al-Qaida and the Corp. in a translated version aimed for a Western audience … Recruitment tracks are issued in multiple languages, like a 39-page electronic English version …

I looked for the link, it's been deleted but apparently there was something fishy going on on that website, hence the deletion.

While he has no link, I still believe it.
There are a whole bunch of these sort of people. We had a big problem with them here, Muslims who owned websites that linked to videos of suicide bombers, but didn't do any terrorism here.
So the government just made it illegal to promote videos of terrorism and threw them in jail.
But of course, in America you have freedom of speech. So people like this aren't breaking the law. But it is one of the prime propaganda vehicles for groups like Al Qaeda.
