What countries are developed

I was curious as to what countries are now considred officially "developed".

No African or South African countries are developed...Eastern European either. This is according to the World Bank and IMF.

OECD is more liberal they include Mexico, Turkey, Russia, South Africa.

I call Bull$#1t on that. :-)

I don't consider any of the countries you mention "developed." Maybe Russia is developed, maybe.

Turkey, I don't think so, massive unemployment and a massive inefficient state-owned sector, same for Mexico.

Don't know much about South Africa, but I doubt a nation that has not seen East Asian growth rates (10%) and only released 90% of its population from serfdom about 18 years ago could be a developed country.
