Why is Bush the President for long time
President Bush does not secure the USA Constitution and h e is suppose to d o this. many people say he is not doing his job and has not secure or protection the Constitution. here are some of there reasons:
1. spying on americans
2.Tortureing militaires prisonniers
3. putting americans in prison without warrant from judiciaire
4. he want to attack Dubai but General Colin Powell say no to this
5. he go against rule of law from USA congress
6. his attorney general refuse freedom of presse
7.he wont stop lying.
andmany other reasons.
what most persons dont like is that he is the President and he is not protection the USA Constitution. he also dont act like the President who is suppose t o be respresent the leader of the free world.

He is the President for a long time because he stole the election via voter fraud in 2000 in Florida and in 2004 in Ohio. And because the Democratic nominees, Gore and Kerry, respectively, didn't fight hard enough to prove this.

Bet you're some Michael Moore fan ey? He did not steal any of those elections, he won them fair and square. It's just the fact that the democrats or any who disagree with the politics to Bush will come to the conclusion that he cheated.
My answer to the original poster on why Bush has served 2 terms ("long") is because he won the elections in 2000 and 2004 fair. Suck it up, move on and vote for a democrat 2008 if you don't like the Bush/Republican party stance on issues.

Svante- All of the items in your list are exaggerated.
For example, with torture, there were three terror suspects who were waterboarded with permission from above but you make it sound like torture is a widespread practice and that incidents like Abu Graib were allowed from the top, which is not true.
Or the freedom of the press, you make it sound like Bush's administration is actively censoring the press constantly which is absurd considering that there is so much in the press that is constantly criticizing him.
There are reasons to believe that Bush is a bad president and that he has claimed too much executive power, but the list of things that he has done is not quite as interesting and dramatic as the list you made.

Yeah, I never heard anything about him wanting to attack Dubai. That's bullshit. If anything he wants to sell major US assets to Dubai.

In 2000, Bush lost the popular vote but still won due to the electoral college system. Democratically, he lost the election, but America is not a democracy, it is a federal republic. Whether that was fair and square depends upon if you believe in democracy or not. Our forefathers certainly didn't.
One does not have to be an extreme left-winger to be opposed to Bush. I often marvel that Clinton was partially impeached for perjury, and yet it does not appear Bush will be punished for his crimes against humanity and the Constitution. Even now, he's negotiating trade deals with Canada and Mexico without consulting Congress, overstepping his Constitutional powers. But this is not as bad as leading the country into a pre-emptive war based upon lies, and the Patriot Act, which we can also blame Congress for. And furthermore, if Bush authorized torture and indefinite detention on any level at all, be it 3 people or 300 people, that is still against basic human rights and still a war crime.

See there's no real need to do so because Americans bought into Bush's lies and manipulation until it was too late. All they had to do was convince some people that most of the media has a liberal bias, and then as long as Fox news exists, the masses can be manipulated with ease. (:

Svante - I invite you to read here and make your own decision. Or just google: 2000, voter fraud, florida - Bush stole this election and was not elected - - he was selected, by the U.S. Supreme court. His brother was Governor in Florida, and his campaign chair was Sec. of State in Florida - - she was the one who "certified" the fraudulent vote in Florida.
Do the same for 2004: google - - 2004 voter fraud Ohio and then you decide
