The Holocaust; Will it Happen Again?

The Holocaust; will it happen again? I am sure that it could happen again. But will it? Sure it was a terrible time and it is full of sadness and sorrow, but I can almost understand Hitler's idea, though it was terrible.

Already has.

Ask the Rwandans, Sudanese, and Cambodians.

We also saw how a small country (Serbia) attempts to do things similar to the Holocaust.

It has happened many times since the beginning of recorded history. The Caribbean Indians were plentiful at the time of Columbus's discovery. Now none are left. Carthaginians were slaughtered and fields sowed with salt. Armenians forced on death march to Syria, English slaughtered the Scottish Highlanders, British invented the concentration camp (women and children died by the hundreds) during the Boer War, etc., etc. It seems to be the nature of man to perpetrate genocide. It will happen again.

This is the reason why many people oppose the exclusive study of the Jewish holocaust, as it causes people to become blind the the numerous other genocides that occur. I personally feel schools should teach about many of the recent genocides as warning, instead of focusing on the Nazi-Jewish one.

It just seems so biased to me to exclusively focus on one of them.

Great topic; and who or what is ready to stand up for people that cannot defend themselves?

U.N-----nope

NATO- nope again

USA- boy doesn't this cut right to the core of all the USA bashers. It sucks being the biggest and strongest kid on the block. Everyone hates you because you may walk with a swagger but they like you when they need help; especially when you give it away for free.

tIt is not only the Us that tries and prevent genocide, you know. Arehtere US troops in Sudan, fror instance? Nope (I know this is partly because Sudan refuses a UN mission, but still).

Let's just take my country for instanc,e with a much smaller military, and economy than the US, who are taking art in peace mission in the DRC, Sudan, Ivory Coast and Burundi.

I also know that India and Pakistan have wuite a few troops doing peace missions in Africa.

This idea thatit is only the Us doing anything, is a fal;se projection of the truth.

More emphasis is placed on the Holocaust because of how very systematized the killing was. The Nazis generally didn't kill Jews angrily or with any emotion; it was a very automatic and efficient process that was the result of careful planning and design. This makes the Holocaust very different from any other genocide.

Based upon the ideals upon which America was founded (Declaration of Independence) it is the responsibility of the People to defend themselves against tyranny by government. It is their (the People's) right and duty to do so.

The United States should be endorsing the right of all People to Keep and Bear Arms so that they can defend themselves against tyranny by their governments. An armed person always has the ability to defend themselves.
