I anticipate a world altering event that will likely get very little press; peak oil, the point when annual world oil production tops out at a historic high and then begins a long, irreversible decline. In fact it may have already happened. It is almost universily accepted that total world oil production will peak within the next fifteen years, with a substantial number of experts asserting that we are within five years of this point. It will likely take at least a year after the peak before we can be sure it has happened. However, once past, the world as we know it will be forever changed.
