Hello Political Forum members,
By now, most everyone has figured out what constitutes an insult here and what does not. However, for new comers this acquired knowledge can be a bit confusing and frustrating. Thus, the forum staff have come up with a way to quickly orient new posters to our rules of civil political discussion.
The following graphic gives an example of what is considered an insult and what is considered a criticism.
Most direct insults contain the phrase "you are." If we are doing criticizing, we want to be criticizing other people's arguments, and not saying that someone is some insult. Doing so leads to an endless cycle of retaliation and counter-retaliation that derails the debate.
Also, we will also keep a list of
Implied Insults, which are also against forum rules. We'll show a list here to demonstrate what is an "implied insult." This thread will be open to moderators to add in new implied insults for examples on what NOT to do, if they come up.

- I'm glad I'm not the only one finally seeing the silliness of this troll :-)
- I'm not sure if you have the intelligence to understand this.
- There may be a lack of intelligence for you to understand this.

When infractions are awarded, a private message is automatically sent to notify you. Do not reply back with a snide remark or insult. Forum rules still apply in private messages. Breaking them carries additional penalties.
