Such a lame comparison, and I actually am living in Vienna. To use the Siege and the Battle of Vienna as abstract "history repeats, just in a different way" threat is not very creative.
Even though only the right extremes are using here this comparison.
I have to admit something though. "Gates of Vienna" is a rare and interesting blend of islamophoby and EU-phoby. Both things are not that rare, but I guess to fuse both into a single solid one is really unique. Thumbs up for so much creativity.
An interesting thing to watch too is to see the members of the blog being indecissive either to think of the EU as surpressing force that will command European armies to enslave the people or as bunch of inable Eurokrats unable to do anything. Somehow that does not fit together I would say.

I've always thought the EU was a stupid idea myself.

It is kind of weird that there are people in Europe AND America who believe that our governments are working towards a totalitarian state.
Slarti, are you not at all concerned with Europe's seemingly enthusiastic choices to bend to the will of Islam? I wish my memory was better, but I have heard several instances where they have abridged your rights, in ceartain countries, to quell the "WRATH OF MOHAMMAD." The only one that comes to mind right now is the Dutch cartoon, some country outlawed making cartoons of mohammad because of how pissed the Islamists will get. I'll try to remember, or look up the others.

Yeah, I guess I could just look it up too.
I guess for some reason, it's just cooler having someone from over there tell me.

There are two categories.
Human Rights and decissions of private persons that are their own very free choice.
First, I dont know where you see "enthusiastic bending over to Islam". I really can not see anywhere enthusiasm.
Moreover veil bans do not really fall into the category of "enthusiastic bending over". More the opposite.
But if trying to treat muslims not as general suspects and suspicious 2nd class people like in the US is "enthusiastic bending over" than in fact we might be guilty of it. But not even that is for sure if you follow European politics thoroughly.

But to get back to the connection between "arabification" of Europe (that simply does not take place as Turks hardly can be considered as arabs but are posing the largest share of muslims at least in the German speaking area) and the EU.
It simply does not exist.
