FOX news or with entertainment program? I could not imagine that it would be a news channel like CNN. Hell, I am sure the US financed TV channel Al-Hurra (or how it is called) in Iraq would be more popular than FOX News in Turkey...

Well, they made an offer to transfer most popular news reporter Burcu Esmersoy (she just married with an italian -son of the owner of ferrari ) in Turkey from NTV-MSNBC.

So I think it would be a news channel...

On the other hand, German Axel Springer invested %25 of Turkish media giant, Dogan group...
There is media war over Turkey nowadays...

But who would be interested in watching what ultra conservative Americans call their news channel of choice?

Those "unbiased" news like Fox news offers them, simply have to be unsellable in Turkey.

Well, I am sure they would find a cosmetic style to get attention of turkish ppl...
BTW, Unfortunately, already there is no unbiased news (except some idealist but weak channels) remain in Turkey, all media invested by foreigners. Since it is not such profitable business in Turkey, surely their aims are to impose their views and manipulate the public opinion ....

AH the cultural hegemony that Antonio Gramsci spoke of. A system to form cultural perspective of the people and in doing so influence their interations with each other and the govt.

Exactly it is a more cosmetic way of hegemony , persuasion instead of the military coups.

Do you think it will be seen as it is or will it be something else?

it is not important what ppl know , it is important what ppl see because Ppl believes only what they see.... Thats why media has a big power..
Screens can manuplate everything easily, they can show a small protest with 40 protesters like the bigest ever. And when you watch it with your own eyes, you believe it...
