The title speaks for itself, but I wonder what our your views on the EU and Europe, what still are two different things?!
What do you think about the European legacy (of the past and the present) for humankind, what do you think about the European project (it's history, it's future,...?!).
I probably will sound chauvinistic but I can't imagine a better place to live than Europe!

I had very positive experiences in Europe. I was impressed by the civility, the beauty, the rich sense of history everywhere and the well-run society.
My complaints would be: Europeans tend to complain without doing enough to change what they dislike. Also, the anti-Americanism can be very ugly. Surely life is too short for hatred? Europeans take pride in being peaceful people, and that is good - but hatred is not peaceful.

i am not talking abaut military assult. i am talikng abaut economical press, like when russians stoped selling natural gas to europe, what yould destroy our economy. 21st century will be century of economical and not military wars. and only big markets with strong political cooperaton will survive.

problem with eu
the problem with the eu is they are too politically correct and have no balls, and spend far too much money on immigrants. other than that i think it surpasses the us as far as quality of life.

The EU has worked as a decent economic union. It's major leaders, like France and Germany, could very well be better off economicall without it, but the economically weaker countries need it sorely. The big countries have made a tradeoff, and in return they have increased influence, so I guess that most European countries are happy with it.
The only problem I'd see with it is that it erodes national identities. In the U.S. we were free and independent states, much like European countries. The obvious difference is that Germany, for example, has had thousands of years to develop an identity, which states like South Carolina did not.
About where the best place to live is, that's really just a matter of preference. While most people would prefer the big cities, which I do, I prefer to spend most of my time in the country with an abundance of beautiful landscape, untarnished by the city.
I'm sure that you're love of Cairo has something to do with Arab nationalism, but I really don't care about the cities in the same kind of way. I love my country, but if I'm going to go into the city alot it's really just to make more money, not because it's my preference.

Well, I'm pretty much sooting in the blind here.
Since I've never been to Europe, but I will offer my opinion for what it's worth.
It is my beleif that as a whole Europe has made a lot of progress in the last few decades.
I think that a European union would be benificial to the people of Europe.
The only problem {at least I can see} is the language barrier.
This may sound corny and right out of a Sci Fi series, but perhaps a universal translater is not so far off.
All in all in my opinion the average European wants pretty much what the average American wants to live comfortably, in peace, to provide for themselves and their home and their family.
As I have said though this is but a humble opinion from an average American who has never been to Europe.
I have however watched the BBCA NEWS AND NETWORK from time to time.
