BANGKOK - Bangkok and its surrounding provinces will be underwater within the next 15 to 20 years unless barriers are constructed along the capital’s Chao Phrya River, the National Disaster Warning Centre warned in a report on Monday

The study says that Bangkok could be gone in 15 to 20 yrs.

Bangkok use to be called "the Venice of the Orient". It is very similar lots of canals and such. I am thankful I got to visit before it goes.
