I heard just today on the Ed Schultz show around 1:00pm today, that someone had just discovered how to burn salt water for fuel. So I looked it up online.
There were two things that really bugged me about this story. The first was how they just bypassed the cancer research. The second was how they didn't talk at all about how the process works.
The radio waves (must be high power radio waves) cause the H2O to break into Hydrogen and Oxygen, which then burn and turn back into H2O. The energy gained is zip. Far more energy is used to produce the radio waves than comes out from the burning of the hydrogen. This isn't new. We've known how to break water into it's elements for a looooong time, electrolysis, which we've known does not return any energy over what is spent. This just uses radio waves instead of eletricity. But this gets the story over the cancer studies.
