global warming to cause wars???

Global Warming Could Fuel War Andrea Thompson

Food and water shortages fueled in the future by global warming could spur conflicts and even wars over these essential resources, the authors of a new study warn.

History suggests the controversial idea might be on track.

Changes in climate, such as temperature and rainfall, can significantly alter the availability of crops, livestock and drinking water. Resource shortages could, in turn, prompt people to turn to war to get what they need to survive, several experts have warned.

A new study, detailed in the August 2007 issue of the journal Human Ecology, suggests this was the case in the past. The authors reviewed 899 wars fought in China between 1000 and 1911 and found a correlation between the frequency of warfare and records of temperature changes.

“It was the oscillations of agricultural production brought by long-term climate change that drove China’s historical war-peace cycles,” wrote lead author David Zhang of the University of Hong Kong.

Similarly, several top retired American military leaders released a report in April warning of the national security threat posed by global warming, predicting wars over water, refugees displaced by rising sea levels and higher rates of famine and disease.

Climate change could possibly improve growing conditions in some areas (particularly higher latitudes), while hurting them in others (especially the tropics), explained William Easterling of Pennsylvania State University.

“What that sets up is a sort of winners and losers situation,” said Easterling, who was not affiliated with the new study.

Easterling, a co-author of the most recent Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change report on the potential impacts of climate change, told LiveScience that all-out war is unlikely unless international institutions and global markets completely fail, but the change in distribution of resources could cause “international tensions [to] intensify.”

As an example of these tensions, Easterling cited Israel’s control over regional water resources and its use of that monopoly in the conflict with the Palestinians.

“It became a huge political tool,” Easterling said.

Easterling also said that the correlation cited by the authors of the new study did not necessarily prove that temperature changes caused increased warfare, but that there could certainly be a relationship between the two.

Separately, other scientists have argued that a looming peak in oil production could potentially generate conflict on a global scale as industrialized nations fight over dwindling petroleum supplies in an era of soaring demand.

I thought with hybrid and electric cars and no new coal plants we are on our way to reversing global warming and ending it!

The planet has been going through global warming and global cooling (think of the ice ages) since time began and most of those times the planet has corrected itself.

What about closing down every factor that pollutes way too much?

There is a half-baked global warming industry starting up. It consists of scare books cranked out for a quick buck. Time serving university researchers giggle as they get government grants to prove that global warming will make your eye balls fall out. Hollyweird and TV are cashing in. Libs see a new scare tactic to get votes. Corporations are maneuvering to see how they can get a piece if the action. I tell ya, 90% of global warming is people seeing how they can profit from hysteria.

Republicans have terrorism

Democrats have global warming

I think H.A.A.R.P. has far more military implications. If it really uses 1 billion watts, it is no wonder that fuel prices went up.

The technology is said to originate from the brilliant mind of Tesla. The scientist who gave us AC (alternating current) and many other technological gifts.

Debate over the reality of global warming and the fact that Humans are the cause has been settled amongst the scientific community over a year ago. It isn't a democratic issue or a republicab issue - it's a world issue that requires everyones attention.

As far as Fear goes - that's the Terrorists job, and rather than actually fighting the terrorists our administration has done a hell of a job helping with the fear campaign and I must say has provided terrorists from all across the middle east a nice little sand box to play in (Iraq) and give terrorists the best possible trainning they have ever had.

Sure, that is cause wars!

Global warming will be profond cause wars.
In Asie, there are many thoughts about the relations between the agressives & sprit world. The land was spoled by 3 elements 1) hates between humans
2) hates by souls 3) hates by goast disapointed(the ones because were dead with sorrows painful/wars/tricks/betrads)
Too many & many peoples have died with the reasons miserables, tolerents by hates of human, and jalousies, criminals...
Many innocenses was killed by XXX & XXXXX & XXXXXX!!!
The sick souls don't want to go their place, cause have lot of troubles surffers. If its exist all after dead, what will give back to us?
If its don't exist, what do you want continnuer for none?

It's not only poluer just the earth air, terre, water, but also the sprituel worlds. The sky are poluer by the million pieces of astro-corbell(poubel), Even the all seas are poluer with melerd & corbeils & brocken ships /airplans/machines...
The earth are full of bombes atomics/nuclears/rockets...

Imajin! Tf they become to old, cannot use, cannot throw without polutions, also with technic absent can be explose... It's not so long time, will be soon. Who must have all the problem? It's not you, so WHO?
Who will have that responsability of all? Our future childen must be in corbell? That's correct?

But the spritural world are full of bad desires too.
So who can be safe in this catastropes? Only you and your friends?
It's why you wanted continnued all of baggars & strugles & fightings with poor peoples poor nations?
And my opinions, we are all in the same boat, you know?
Without any exception!

The Pentagon has adopted this as a key element in their long-term planning. I'm not sure whether it was the retired generals' committee under Sullivan or the pentagon that issued the statement that global warming would be the most important element in national security during this century.

When peoples are searching for water and food, they will migrate, often to other nations. If it gets bad in the US, we may even see some migration to canada.
