Nothing new here.
The tradidiontal fish the Britons use to eat is allready today so rare that most of what is caught directly goes to Britain, while the rest of Europe has replaced it allready.
There is allready a common European fishery policy in place, that tries to reduce the fishery in the atlantic and other seas. The UK does not reall like it though. Anyway, in my eyes its not strict enough and perhaps also not efficient enough. But at least its better than nothing.
If we would start today to cut back fishery to reasonable dimensions again, the issue would be immideately solved. But that will not take place. Its a pitty somewhat.

That sucks, hopeully I'll be dead by then. Seafood is my favorite genre of food, I'll eat anything but oysters, sardines, and sushi, but I doubt I've ever had real good sushi.

Or good sardines (maybe you accidentally had anchovies or think sardines are something they're not).
As a Marylander, seafood is my thing. Therefore I'll get my biochem major sister to clone all of the delicious Maryland seafood along with some sushi favorites.

There have been reports in the seafood industry that say the amounts of seafood actually caught is declining. I will try to find some news on this and post.

Interesting. Although I would be sceptical about anything the seafood industry says itself. Of course they have an interest to tell everyone that quantities are declining anyway.
Here in Europe it might be even true. Legislation simply forces the industry to decrease its capacities.

I do know that the government scaled back the Fishing in N.H.
I wonder if other states have done the same thing?

Or it could be declining from declining sea populations. Less fish means less of a chance to catch one.
