I also agree, but only if the professional politicians are not allowed to participate.

I think the dems might be under the impression that they can not go wrong, that we will never vote republicans in again, so they can get away with whatever they want because "it can't be as bad as having reps in majority."

Ageed
That would be their huge mistake, assuming Reps just threw them in with no vigilance.

We are LONG overdue for a third party to step into the mix. Unfortunately, unless the people get over this "A vote for a third party is a vote for the opposition!" nonsense then both the Republicans and Democrats KNOW that it is their country and they will have absolutely no opposition for anything they want to do. A country needs a three-party system because it's much easier for two parties to "compromise" to the point of basically merging before the peoples eyes (all the while holding this farce of "fighting about all the issues") than it is for three parties to do so.

I agree with you here, b ut in the past when a third party gains the weaker party disappears and we are back to the 2 party thing. I think history would repeat itself.

It is so fucking funny. Those assholes throw all of these ideas out about how they can do everything better than the other side, blah blah blah. If they really gave a fuck about making things better, the best thing they could do would be to inact term limits........ I won't hold my breath.
I wonder what they would say if a lot of citizens, I mean enough to count, got together and demanded term limits.
Who am I kidding, they would tell us to fuck ourselves.

You are right! the stand they take against term limits is that the more senority they have the more than can do for their districts. It boils down to the pork.
As we know that is what politics is all about.
