I hadn't heard that either, but it wouldn't surprise me. IMO, Bush was just the better thief

Jeb maybe. George never had any input in the elections process. The battle was between Gore and Jeb.

Good point there. LOL still, I wasn't wrong! [Jeb] Bush was just the better thief.

My own opinion is that elections have a margin of error of about +/- .3%. I think that any election that close should just be decided by coin flip.

I think some states actually do flip a coin in case of actual ties.

In our state you must provide proof of residence for the address, that would be difficult to do 100 times. Voter registration I believe is also cross-referenced with Driver's Licenses (where possible-not everyone has one).

I would like to receive a paper receipt if I use an electronic voting machine.

You do not HAVE to do that. They request it, but all states will issue a card based only on your signed sworn statement.

Strangely, the government won't accept that for your taxes.

Isn't that what signing the 1040 is? It's just a sworn statement. They accept that for almost everybody's taxes unless they decide to audit you.

Not really. Your employer and all of your financial institutions report on your income and transactions. Although they don't cross check them all, they do enough to make lying very risky.

Not so with voting, where I've seen or heard of almost no effort to cross check information provided, or prosecute illegal voters.
