Along with the huge defit one of the biggest problems in the American economy is the huge trade imbalance we have around the world. The United States loses hundreds of billions of dollars a year from importing much less then we export.

One of the main reasons for this is America's lack of industrys to produce the products it needs for the reason that products oversees could be created less expensively. If a stronger protective tariff was enacted then it would not just bring in revenue but create American industrys that could supply us with the products we would normally import. A tariff would also create more jobs for the economy that would not require much education which would supply jobs for poor communittys.

This also has many drawbacks of course. It would cause countries that export large amounts of products to us angry, especially China, which could cause many negative effects. It would also cause the prices of products in America to raise because of the innefficency of the American industrys.

I t would definitely anger china and others but it would be a effective way to begin healing the economy. I have been saying much the same thing along with bringing the troops home to guard the borders.

Although Just the tariffs would go a long way to solving the immigration problem too. If we force all those jobs back home the unemployment rate would drop trememdously. Americans would not have a reason to complain about illegals taking US jobs.
