Cool Commitments

I'm sure everybody knows what a commitment is.
I've made more than a few myself.
I must confess however, I can't say I'm too fond of making a commitment with corporations.
I'll give you a few examples recently I moved in with some freinds of mine in the country, only one phone company comes out this far.
To get service you must sign a contract for a year,or if you prefer a commitment,if you break your commitment you must pay $200..
So if I should have to move where this phone company dosen't go I still must pay $200.00
It's the same with Satelite companys, to get satelite service you must sign a contract or make a commitment. If another satelite company comes up with a better deal I have to pay $200.00 to switch. Is this fair?
It is my beleif if we as consumers must make a commitment for services from corporations, then corpoations should make a commitment with every employee they hire, and if they are laid off or fired or their place of work is shut down within 2yrs they should pay their emploee 200.00 plus unemployment. After all fair is fair is it not?
Gentlemen, and ladies I await your thoughtsand expressions on this subject.
ps, Question; Are corporations obtaining too much power over the American people?
