Who knows. There probably will be dramatic changes in the world economy in the next decades. Anything can happen. I think the dollar will still be around for quite some time. A lot depends on how China, India, Russia and eventually Brazil will develop.

If I can find the link I will send it--China and India seem to be eyeing the Euro.

Yeah ... doesn't say anything. China owns so many US treasury bonds by now ... they would be crazy if they fuck up the Dollar.

Possible but unlikely.

But what the Euro succeeded in was to break up the absolute dominance of the Dollar. The US has to live with a multi polar financial world again. A world where not any more there is the Dollar and than long long nothing, but where the Dollar has to justify its position suddenly as if it does not, it will be replaced by the Euro.

Thats called benefit through competition if I am not wrong.

Dont trust wikipedia, the entries are made by complete strangers who have bias or put in false information. Sure hope the Amero will be out by 2010 though

We're not getting rid of the dollar, I just can't see it happening. Hundreds of years after the metric system caught on Britain kept using the Imperial system and the pound. We're still using the Imperial system and the pound. We go on doing things because we do, and in all honesty I like it.

There would be many negative implications to changing our currency, few beneficial things to come from it. It won't be long until the Euro is no longer as safe as it is, and people will be printing it illegally. It's a new currency so it hasn't faced that yet, but it will and when it does it's going to crash and in that major crash it will fall to below the dollar and collapse.

Actually, I'm just a kid and I'm tired and I'm not sure that what I'm typing is actually my thoughts.

Why do you think that the euro will be brought down by forgers when the dollar hasn't been?

Wrong. I mean yes, its rather new with only 5 years existing in form of banknotes, but without a doubt the organized crime has already adopted to the new currency.

Still it has not broken down yet. No really, I can confirm this personally. I had no problems at the supermarket today paying with my own Euros...

I have a little question though, if the Euro will crash because everyone will print it at home, why hasn't the Dollar crashed already a long time ago???

Are you on drugs? JK
Or why are you not sure what you are typing are your thoughts?
