Thats true, there are less developed areas in China as well. That means for some time the cheaper alternative to "China" will be "China". But these poor regions will become scarcer and I think other countries will become a steadily growing competition of lowest cost productions.
China definitely has to look forward, beyond that segment. With the wealth of a developed country it will also start to face the problems of one.
Of course this development might not happen everywhere in China at the same time though, but if China does not want to experience severe social tensions and massive problems, it has to take care that also the poorer regions get their share in the development sooner or later.
