Blair to become President of World Bank

According to todays papers Tony Blair will quit the UK when he stands down as PM and take up the presidency of the World Bank in Washington, the outgoing prime minister seems to be abandoning the patriotism that led him to call Britain "the greatest nation on earth" last week.

Seriously? What's your source on that, I haven't seen anything on the Beeb about it.
Kind of funny, since at one time Brown was offered the same job, and nearly took it as he was getting frustrated with Blair.
Also, the fact that Blair really doesn't know that much about economics...

ROFL. Since when is competence a requirement for a Bush appointee?

Well, the story started like this:

FT.com / Comment & analysis / Comment - Why Bush should back Blair as World Bank chief

And is currently like this:

Blair could be next World Bank president, says economist | Special Reports | Guardian Unlimited Politics

Ah, that's different, that's just them saying he's in the running. I'm not sure Blair would want the job.
Plus, I wouldn't trust what Stiglitz says too much about it, because a lot of people in the World Bank dislike him.

I backed Fischer, but Blair would've been quite possibly the worst choice out of anyone running.

This may sound bad, but the President of the World Bank doesn't necessarily require an extensive knowledge of Economics. Experience of being Prime Minister of a great Economic power is in Blair's favour.

That said, I would much prefer someone with Economic knowledge in that role.

True (though it is UK Prime Minister, we don't have Presidents because we have the Queen). Look at him now compared to when he was first elected PM. He's only been in power for 10 years, but he looks like he's aged about 25.

When you first start reading books about the Illuminati and the central bankers, one tends to think this is quite fanciful thinking by someone who absorbed too much peyote.

Over the years, as one adds to their knowledge, one does tend to substantive evidence that the world is indeed run by a cabal of shadowy, ultra private elitists.

Those without the proper intellect or business background can still find utility by offering a pleasant contenance to the public and never questioning their masters.

I doubt that Blair and Bush could combine their resources to explain the general impact of the Fed M3 money supply on inflation.

Though I hate their policies (I have doubts that Gentiles will survive in a worthwhile manner), I look at their smiling heads and think "No way that could harbor a sinister mind." And perhaps it does not. Perhaps it just smiles and says "yes sir" when the central bankers and Zionists issue their orders.
