On valentine´s day the Daimler/Chrysler headquarters in Stuttgart/Germany announced that 13 000 workers in the US will loose their jobs and rumours go round that the Automobile marriage between both companies is about to separate...

What a nice present. It seems some multinationals, have a splendid feel for the "right" timing.

(Even though this will suck on any other days as much)

Job losses in US vehicle manufacturing are expected to top 100,000 as the big three attempt restructuring for survival. Daimler-Chrysler is forecasting 400,000 less vehicles for 2008 production, with remaining facilities operating at 100% capacity. Chrysler is definitely for sale.

It's really sad to see this important jobs get cut. We're losing jobs in the auto industry like crazy, but at least we're cutting up the slack with fast food jobs
