At the same time the working poor and Mcjob principles are considerably wider found in the US than in Europe. That leads of course to even lower unemployment figures than it would have otherwise.
I know quite some stories of an Austrian who works runs a production line in an American factory. Quite a number of those who work there probably would not get a job here before they get major things straight first.
