The black community isnt so nice =\
I've dealt with this a lot growing up but I think this just tops the cake. I was with a forum community that was mainly all black. I liked it because I just love debating and learning from others' views and opinions about things. A couple days ago someone posted a thread about Affrimative action and portrayed President Bush as some "racist." I, being a Republican and a Bush supporter was livid at this thread and I made some posts as well as spoke out against Affrimative Action. I'll be honest, I'm against it. I see it as discrimination, only instead of discriminating blacks we are discriminating whites. I even spoke out about most of the kids in the black community chooses not to get educated. That most of them would rather talk about the new "kicks" or "Fly gear" that they bought rather then math, English, and other school related stuff. "Why should we help the lazy. They should work hard and earn it! I did!" Thats what I basically said. Of course they werent too happy with it. They said that I "betrayed" the African American race. I'm a "white man's puppet." (that, and because I am in an interracial relationship.) "An Oreo" (which of course it isnt the first time I have heard that.) I dont feel as though I said anything wrong. I dont feel as though being a "Black Republican" is wrong. But a majority of the black community looks down on that. Its even harder for me because I am from Africa which makes it even more confusing for them to understand. I dont see why the color of my skin should determine which political "side" I am on. I just got so mad at that forums site, I deleted myself from it. Its so sad, I feel sorry for them. People in the Black community sit here and complain about "...when will America move on from discrimination? When will we stop being bullied and controlled by 'the white man.'" My thing is when will the Black community move on? When will they stop living in the past?

Some of that is true. I also disagree with affirmative action and anything based solely on race. I think that it seems like many blacks have a lower value for education because, honestly, many blacks are poorer. It's just how history played out. Most of them were slaves just over 140 years ago, and that's not a lot of time to move up the socioeconomic ladder. After time, these distinctions will fade away.

My grandmother was an immigrant sharecropper's daughter. Her son managed to become an MD. 140 yrs is plenty of time for anyone who truly wants to climb.

My grandmother was the daughter of an Italian sweatshop worker who supported his family from age 9. Her children are all successful. Our families could do it, but apparently 140 years isn't enough time for everyone.

I am originally from Somalia. Born and raised till the age of five in Mogadishu. I will neither label myself a republican nor a democrat. Both parties have the same agenda when it comes to foreign affairs, and only differ when it comes to which method they will use to achieve their goal.
I am personally against Affirmative Action. I see it as some kind of pity remorse coming from the white community. As if telling the African-American people, you can’t do it by yourself. You need extra “special” help.
Forget about the Oreo part, it’s better than someone saying “you don’t look black or you are not black. As if black people have one certain look.

I wouldnt say that affirmative action is some type of pity from the white community, but rather a necessary means to keep an ongoing race war quiet.IMO

Judging an entire community based on an internet forum is kinda silly, isn't it? I wouldn't judge the entirety of republicans based on some conservative forums I've been on.

Agreed. Most people on internet forums do not represent the vast majority of people in any respect.

Actually, they are kinda right. They still are discriminated, even on tv. Fox badly discriminates them. Here is a link to a video that shows thier discrimination to blacks.
