This is exactly why I felt that if the Democrats won the Congress that it would be a very good thing if it was only by a small majority. Too big a majority and they would have far to much power.

What exactly would changing the 2nd Amendment do?

It is a fundamental principle that the Bill of Rights does not grant, confer or otherwise give the citizen's their rights . . . Rewriting or removing a particular provision would not empower government to undertake an action that theretofore had been prohibited to it.

The right to arms exists without any dependence on the Constitution . . . So says the Supreme Court of the United States.

Banning, getting rid of, outlawing guns only does one thing, takes the guns out of the law abiding citizen's hands. The criminals will still have guns and will continue to get guns so you will have a nation of unarmed law abiding citizens and armed criminals.
