Interesting statistics I came across are that as of October 2005, all provincial courts are operational; 135 of 869 judges were removed because of substantial evidence of corruption or Ba’ath Party affiliation. This was in October of last year I believe. The estimated need is for is for 1,500 judges according to the US Department of Justice, but I think that they are only up to about 750.
