It won't bring them back, but that is the cost for his crime. On the bright side for him if he can expire, and then come back... well... then he is a free man.

As for the actual punishment, I'm no huge fan of it, but I do support it.

I live here in Jacksonville, and we aren't that far from UF. The amount of terror that this man caused is... you just can't really express how much. It actually shut the university down. I just wish they could have shot him 16 years ago and have saved the tax payers a lot of money.

Yeah I don't either. What should be done, is to put people like this in a room with relatives of the victim(s), who decide they WANT to and sign documents stating so, for a 24 hour period of time. The door will be opened after 24 hours and every thing that happened in there as well as the outcome is nobodies business and beyond all laws and will stay undocumented.

People that do shit like this shouldn't sit in a cell at taxpayers expense forever. Or if they HAVE to, then they should only have a place to sleep, water and bread to eat. No T.V., no books, no interaction with anyone else.

I like my option better :-)

You know, that's a really interesting idea. but if the family leaves the convicted party alive, what next? What happens to him/her? Does he/she get to start life over? At a minimum, some kind of monitoring of his/her activities would seem to be warranted.

I'd say let the people out of the room that are able to COME out and they're all free to go. If killer gets OUT then the cycle can continue.

I think this is kind of a rough, tough love way to maybe try to repair our fucked up system of justice. I doubt it would fly (yet) but I think something will evetually happen.

I was thinking about this earlier. It seems that every society/civilization that's founded starts out with a good, solid foundation of what is right and wrong and how to deal with problems. As societies/civilzations grow and get powerful, their systems and populations get apathetic and/or ignorant and lose their bearings and forget what right and wrong even MEAN.

Interesting to consider that this might be one factor in the decline and fall of every civilzation. One wonders if we're teetering on the edge of this OURSELVES at the moment. Look at the govt. and the way THEY act to guide "the people".

Some things to think about. Maybe not TOTALLY unrelated.
