As a journalist and blogger myself, I have to say that I'm ashamed of this. What's interesting is that most of the major networks are keeping silent about this. Of course, no one wants to admit that they screwed up or were hoodwinked.
Sure, when you interview an expert, you usually dig a little into their past, just so you know how well qualified they are and just know a little something about them.
And it can be said, "Who would know these generals would be staged?" I can tell you that when you need an expert to speak to during a timely story, you don't have time to go too deep into their past and find out who they had lunch with. After all, deadlines have to be met.
And that needs to be understandable. And in this case, no one told some of the media about the relationship between these military men and the Pentagon. But some of the media knew about it, according to the New York Times, and never reported on it.
The media's silence on the matter is disgusting. When a person makes a mistake, he or she should own up to it. And to the media networks who knew this relationship, shame on them for not honoring their obligation to the people.
And shame on the Bush Administration for allegedly pushing this charade. It wasn't needed in my opinion. The whole build up to go into Iraq was because Saddam had unaccounted WMD, he broke U.N. resolutions, had terrorists ties and after 9/11, we wanted to make sure this country and the world was save. Most of the information about Saddam came from other countries and the U.N.
That should have been enough to go into Iraq and find out what's what. Although, I have stated that using the military was too soon and too fast. More time was needed, at least a year, before even considering such operations.

I don't belive any government department
would "Sell a War". This is all left wing liberal propoganda. There is no way the Pentagon would try to suck the United States millitary into a War.Knowing that their people would be sent into situations
where they may be killed or maimed. There is a Liberal communist agenda in America that is always against America defending it self in situations like we have now, where Terrorists organiztion are attacking Americans here in America and abroad.

The Domination Effect
They used a technique called Information Dominance. The press and the government keeps pounding the same lies again and again in our heads until we believe those lies as the truth. Heck now they are doing the same technique to demonize China over the Olympics thing.

But there were no weapons of Mass Destruction and any reason to believe this was extremely questionable and the idea that there were any links with Al Qaeda was simply propaganda. This was so obvious. Intelligence, certainly in the UK but I thought it was in the USA as well, was that the only way Al Qaeda was likely to get into Iraq was if the US attacked it, which of course turned out to be the truth.
I thought the reason for the Iraq war was oil,
The Real But Unspoken Reasons For The Iraq War
Alan Greenspan claims Iraq war was really for oil - Times Online
and I thought that was why people in the 'War Sucks' thread kept saying war was over resources.
I think this was one of the most shady wars ever entered into.
We have been told there will be a full investigation into how we got into it after all our troops are home. I will wait to see if that happens.

This IS the shadiest war we've ever been in. It was largely unprovoked, and there was almost no evidence of said activities.
I want to know Bush's real motivation for going to war with Iraq.
