this is why we will never shake the Bull Shit that is racism. Some people just can't let it go. I don't think the add in North Carolina is racist at all. Obama is running for the President of the US. If his mentor has these radical feelings toward this country, then it is relevant. he must be questioned about this. And i haven't heard Rev Wright say he doesn't believe what he said.

2. The actual words come from a career US diplomat
3. Fox news deleted reference to this and presented the words as those of Wright
4. Wright actually finished his quotes with the statement that "these are the words of a white man"
Who can judge such a thing with imperfect data? If I quote Hitler, am I a Nazi?

So when Wright said "no, no, no, not God bless America, God damn America", he was quoting someone else?

I was surprised that this story seemed to be off-the radar today. On Google news: nothing. MSNBC Hardball: nothing. MSNBC Race to the White House: nothing. Was the story anywhere on the news today?

I would suggest that it is "Off the radar" because, given that the words are--in part at least--quotations from a white, career diplomat they are less useful as attacks.
It is one thing to present them as the sentiments of an extremist black preacher; it is quite another to present them as quotes from a government employee of some distinction.
As to the "God damn America" quote, I am afraid that my internet connection is [To put it politely] too slow. I have not seen the video.
I am not American and, although the choice of the future president will doubtless influence my life, I have no strong feelings as to who it should be. I wrote simply because a conclusion was being reached on the basis of incomplete data.

So you're saying that you have never seen the Rev Wright video where he says "God damn America" yet you say that you are educating us about what those words mean? Brilliant.

No. Merely supplying context.
I am curious--do you think that presenting his quotes from another person as his own words is an honest thing to do?

Your comments just don't make any sense. Perhaps if you had actually seen the video you are talking about, perhaps you would not be making these comments in the first place. I fail to see how Reverend Wright saying "God damn America" is him quoting anyone else. If you see the video, you would see that he is speaking his own mind, not quoting anyone.
In any case, what is your proof that Wright was quoting someone when he said "God damn America?"

As I said, I was adding context. In this case, it was taken from written accounts on the web. In the part of the middle east where I live, connection speeds are low, so I cannot readily access the video.
I accept your statement that this "God damn America" sounded like his own sentiments. This does not alter the fact that much of the written reports I have seen did not make it clear that he was using quotations from Peck in his delivery. I feel that this was less than honest.
It reminds me of a recent furore in Islam after the reports that the Pope had characterized Islam as a religion spread by the sword. If you remember, the words were a quote from a byzantine emperor which the Pope characterized as the the sort of attitude that leads to hostility.
I feel the more informed a choice is, the better it can be.

SHOW PROOF.
PROOF
PROOF
PROOF
That Rev Wright was quoting anyone besides himself.
If I haven't made my point completely clear by now, let me sum it up in two words:
SHOW PROOF

The only "clips" I've seen on the news since I saw the interview in its entirety have shown only the parts that might seem to be negative, i.e., "He's a politician, I'm a pastor.." This isn't surprising at all, that's what the media does best, show the parts that could be "sensational" as opposed to the substance. If you watch the entire interview you will see that Wright does not undermine Obama at all. In fact after watching it, I see Wright and his statements in a different way.
