Luke ain't that bad. He's only now and then having a severe attack of bad Chinglish, just like me, I and myself, with the language of Voltaire. We are not "purfekckt' you know?

I respect your opinion Martin, and will give you the benefit of the doubt on that one. Sometimes things get lost in translation,eh?

You sure you're USA-er. Your way to react shows lots of plain good Brit humour? Maybe, you're having global genes. Ask mum

I am sorry but there is no such a thing called 100% American, unless you are pure blood Native Indians. You have been in Japan, so I am sure that you are very polite. British etiquette is NOT sincere, though British humor is culturally rich.

Well he said he was born and bred in America. That makes him a native American, doesn't it? I could go on and talk about the British "etiquette" (that's a French word in case you don't know) and ask you if there's such thing called 100% Chinese; but that's not the thread's subject, is it?
It's a controversial issue here (Arms shipping) so there should be more posts arguing about it. Please, try again.

I think you misunderstand the joke. 100% American means that I am of completely mixed heritage. I am at least partly English,Irish, Dutch, German , Scottish, Native American and French. In the US we call this the melting pot, the mixing of the ethnicities. So I am 100 % thoroughly mixed, ergo 100 % American . Does that explain it? Also I never claimed British humor, let alone British etiquette (let me also ask if any form of etiquette is really sincere). P.S. Americans can be polite, I was raised to be so. We Yanks are not as bad as some make us out to be. Peace

Since etiquette is a French word I doubt that any form of it is really sincere but what really is out there?

It is surprising that "etiquette" can be French. But I know "se rendre" is French.
