Gates of Fire

I imagine many people here have already read it, but I just finished reading Gates of Fire by Steven Pressfield and for anyone who is interested in historic fiction I would highly recommend it.

I think I read it. Wasn't one of the most important characters
a helot who became a naturalized citizen, after fighting the
system so far as to name his son "Messenion"?

Go tell Sparta, traveller passing by,
That here, obedient to her laws we lie.

Yes, a wonderful book. It's assigned to our local high school in a Global Perspectives class. Get it from the library. I had to.
