Hannah Montana, one of the current classics.

Bill Bryson: A Short History of Nearly Everything
Thomas Sowell:Basic Economics, Applied Economics, Black Rednecks and White Liberals, Ethnic America
Richard Miniter: Disinformation
Peter Schweitzer: Do as I Say, Not As I Do
Orson Scott Card: Ender series, Shadow series, Empire
Robert Asimov
Victor Davis Hanson: Mexifornia
Philip K. Dick
Doris Kearns Goodwin: Team of Rivals
Douglas Adams
Robert Spencer: Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam and the Crusades
Geoffrey C Ward: The War
A.J. Langguth: Union 1812
Max Brooks: WWZ
Bernard Goldberg
David McCullough: 1776
Stephan King
Robert Asprin
Piers Anthony
Anne Rice

These are my favorites from the last few years, I used to only read sci-fi or horror. I've expanded a little. Still not too into classics. I have to help my teenage son get through those too much for me to really enjoy them yet.

I'll also throw in John Ringo, though his books are really just quick reads.

I would think that even if you don't agree with her ideas you'd still be able to enjoy her books. I like 'em anyways.
