American Historical Documents

Background Notes: U.S. State Department summaries on countries.

European Historical Documents

Statistical Abstract of the United States: Contains a wide range of statistics concerning demographics, economics, federal spending/taxes, etc.

United Nations Documentation Center: Contains General Assembly and Security Council resolutions, etc.

The World Factbook: This CIA publication contains summaries on each of the world's countries.
