It's an article from the New York Times, written in 1970 describing what the United States would be like and the Republicans unveiling of their racist southern strategy which they relied upon to end the political control of the country from the liberal Northeast that lasted for 100 years.
In my opinion, there has never been a more true, nor a more prophetic article ever written about the true working of US politics. The Republican political strategist being written about here (Kevin Phillips) makes Karl Rove look like Dan Quayle.
