Radical cleric sparks fury in Australia

Radical cleric sparks fury in Australia By MERAIAH FOLEY, Associated Press Writer
2 hours, 34 minutes ago

SYDNEY, Australia - A radical Australian cleric drew widespread condemnation Thursday over a series of videos in which he encourages children to become martyrs for Islam and ridicules Jews as pigs.

Sheik Feiz Mohammed, head of the Global Islamic Youth Center in western Sydney, made the remarks on a series of video lectures for sale in Australia and overseas.

"We want to have children and offer them as soldiers defending Islam," the Australian-born cleric said in one video broadcast on Australian television.

The lectures were denounced as offensive by Australian government leaders and as not helpful by the head of the Islamic Friendship Association. The chief of the opposition Labor Party called them an incitement to terrorism.

In one video, the cleric said many parents were stopping their children from attending Islamic lessons for fear that they "might create a place in their hearts, the love, just a bit of love, of sacrificing their lives for Allah."

"Teach them this: There is nothing more beloved to me than wanting to die as a mujahid," or holy warrior, he added. "Put in their soft, tender hearts the zeal of jihad and a love of martyrdom."

He also ridicules Jews as pigs, snorting and saying they will go to hell.

The sheik, who has spent the past year living in Lebanon, was not immediately available to comment. Calls went unanswered Thursday at the youth center, a volunteer-run organization that sponsors pajama parties, pingpong matches and rock climbing expeditions for young Muslims.

Many of the sheik's online lectures focus on preparing oneself for death, but do not explicitly mention jihad or martyrdom. But in a fiery lecture about the state of Islam posted on the video sharing network YouTube, he says today's Muslims are not as inclined to martyrdom as their ancestors.

"In our times, it is the fear of death — the fear of sacrificing your finger, your toe, a drop of blood — that is more honorable than anything else," he says on the video, which features images of violence and death.

"We are the most humiliated nation on the face of this earth, there is no doubt," he says. "Why? Because martyrdom to us is not appealing, it's not as appealing to us as it was to those ancestors, the great warriors."

The sheik's remarks created a firestorm of condemnation Thursday.

Kevin Rudd, the opposition Labor Party leader, said the sheik should not return to Australia.

"These are appalling statements and they have no place in Australia," Rudd told reporters. "As I see it Sheik Mohammed's statements add up to incitement to terrorism."

A senior government minister, Kevin Andrews, agreed.

"All good-minded people, regardless of their religious beliefs or faith or none, I believe, would find these comments to be reprehensible and offensive — that is certainly the view of the Australian government," said Andrews, the minister for workplace relations.

Added Foreign Minister Alexander Downer: "Those kinds of anti-semitic slurs just disgust people in Australia."

"It damages the perception of the Muslim community in Australia," he told reporters at the United Nations. "Muslims in Australia worry that these remarks reflect badly on the Muslim community."

Keysar Trad, the president of the Islamic Friendship Association, said the remarks were not helpful for Muslims in Australia.

"This doesn't make it easier to encourage dialogue, we encourage dialogue and mutual respect," he told Nine network television.

The Australian federal police said it would investigate the videos to determine whether the sheik had breached laws against sedition and inciting acts of violence.

It is the latest in a string of controversies sparked by some of Australia's top Muslim leaders.

Late last year, Sheik Taj Aldin al-Hilali, the mufti of Australia since 1989, made international headlines when he likened unveiled women to "uncovered meat," suggesting they invite sexual assault.

Al-Hilali triggered a further outcry last week, when he told an Egyptian television station that Muslim immigrants were more Australian than their Anglo-Saxon counterparts whose ancestors were brought to Australia by Britain as convicts.

p.s. it is said Mohammed had nine wives and was someone that wasn't even a teen...
Mohammed was clearly insane...he was no savior...just a false prophet...

The 8-Million Muslim Lie

INVESTOR'S BUSINESS DAILY

..it's a wildly inflated estimate manufactured by the Council on American-Islamic Relations, something that the media could easily refute if they dared — simply by deconstructing CAIR's unscientific methodology.

While the number of Muslims is growing thanks to higher birthrates and immigration, it's nowhere near CAIR's claim. Even the most generous independent estimate puts it at half that size, or 4 million.

Finding reliable data for Muslims in America is hard because the Census Bureau does not survey creed. So CAIR, which has an agenda to Islamize America, has overfilled the vacuum.

To come up with its own figure, it hired a "respected scholar" by the name of Ihsan Bagby to lead its "study." But Bagby not only lacks independence — he's a CAIR board member — he's not even a trained demographer.

Worse, he admits the number he arrived at is a "guesstimation." Here's how he came up with it:

1. With help from CAIR researchers, Bagby called the nation's 1,209 mosques and interviewed 416 of them, asking them how many people were involved in their mosque in any way. The average response was 1,625, which is probably high, given that two imams claimed 50,000 when the nation's largest mosque — Dar al-Hijrah in the D.C. suburbs — has only about 3,000.

2. Bagby then multiplied that fuzzy participation figure by the 1,209 mosques and came up with 2 million "mosqued Muslims."

3. Next, he multiplied that sum by a magical factor of three to capture Muslims who might not participate in mosque activities, and arrived at the original 6 million guesstimate for the size of the Muslim population in America.

He says his factor of three was an educated guess. More like a wild exaggeration. Or perhaps a political calculation, as it produced a number that conveniently matched the size — and potential political clout — of the Jewish population in the country, also estimated at 6 million.

CAIR then took the liberty of bumping up the Muslim count to 7 million. Now — presto — it's at 8 million, and climbing.

There are approximately 2 bn Christians. The level of Buddhists is far, far, lower, it's a much smaller religion than Muslims or Hindus.

Wiki (which won't be terribly reliable, but it's alright) claims the numbers are as follows:

2.1 billion Christians
1.3 billion Muslims
1.1 billion non-religious
1.0 billion Hindus
394 million Chinese traditional religion
376 million Buddhists
300 million shamanic/pagan/animist (non-African)
100 million African traditional religions
23 million Sikhs
14 million Jews
7 million Baha'i
4 million Shinto
4 million Cao Dai
2 million Tenrikyo
1 million Neo-pagans
800,000 Unitarian Universalism
600,000 Rastafarians
500,000 Scientologists
Unknown Falun Gong, was 70-100 million before the persecution

Then why does the moderate muslims do not speak out against this outrage
that's because alot of muslims killed and destroyed Buddist architecture

Well there are also many pagan roots in christianity. This for example.....

is a halo, you know the ring that hovers above an angels head. Well it used to look like this......

It is a disc which represents the sun..... or sun god. Not to mention christians worship on "Sun"day. There are other examples that excape me presently, but from what I have read, when Constantine made christianity the Roman's official religion, pagan references and traditions were incorporated to make the religion more attractive to the pagans.

you're right but atleast the parts that were pagan of Christianity were not violent like the ones of islam see Hubal for what I'm talking about

Ishmaelites and the worship of God
Quote:
"Here, the author of the Quran distinguishes Allah from Baal which seems to imply that they are not one and the same entity. A couple of responses are in order. First, even though the text distinguishes Baal from Allah, it says nothing about HU-bal. In fact, the word Hubal never appears in the Quran. It seems that the author was unaware that Hubal and Baal were actually one and the same entity. The surrounding context seems to support this:

"And lo! Elias was of those sent (to warn), When he said unto his folk : Will ye not ward off (evil)? Will ye cry unto Baal and forsake the Best of creators, Allah, your Lord and Lord of your forefathers? But they denied him, so they surely will be haled forth (to the doom) Save single-minded slaves of Allah. And we left for him among the later folk (the salutation): Peace be unto Elias! Lo! thus do We reward the good. Lo! he is one of our believing slaves.' S. 37:123-132 Pickthall

"Since this is referring to the time of Elijah, presumably during his showdown with the prophets of Baal on Mt. Carmel (cf. 1 Kings 18), it may be that the author of the Quran didn't realize that the Baal of Elijah's day was none other than the Hubal worshiped at Mecca. Second, we are focusing on the identity of the pre-Islamic Allah, the Allah worshiped by the pagans prior to the advent of Islam. Hence, it is quite possible that through Muhammads influence Allah was transformed from a pagan high god to the true universal God worshiped by Jews and Christians. In other words, Muhammad tried to package Allah as a distinct Being from the false gods such as Hubal/Baal, purifying the pre-Islamic Allah from all pagan elements" (Article; Did the Meccans Worship Yahweh God, Sam Shamoun, emphasis added).

I remeber reading somewhere that the whole "one all seeing god" originated in or around Mesopatamia, that incliudes all God, the concept was formulated there. And to me whatever name you want to call God is fine, hell Frank would do, it would change the fact that one believes in the "one all seeing".

Even Gnostics, which is a Christian sect, believes the God of the old testament is not the true God, only the one mentioned in the New Testament.

They believe that the Demiurge is a god though. And they don't believe that the new testament one is all powerful.

to my understanding Muhammid (the prophet) married mutiple women some of them were sickeningly young. He headed a religion that has caused its followers to make war with the known world and each other!!! The ideals that he preached were to oppress women, press your ideals on others and that pedophielia was 'A-OK'. Puls under islam you pray FIVE TIMES A DAY!!!

i don't know much about islam but of the solid facts i have on thier treatment of women alone... if they were the real deal i would be shocked at the least.
