Hi, I am back! A thread on corruption from a nationalist!

Hello, all friends here, i haven't come here for a few days, missing all of you! I am disturbed by my academic paper for bachelor degree, my supervisor is very angry about me! So I have to spend most of time on my paper in futher 2 weeks. But today i can't help posting a thread on a case, because i am a extreme patriot ( a nationalist)
This matter is on some corruption ( although there are still no legal conclusion, all people know there is corruption existing), a district gov in a city in Anhui Province, please note just a district gov, built its office like White House! Woo, and things are more complex now!

Look at the splendent office bureau, we also have White House in China!

Meanwhile, local elementary schools are in bad condition, students study and play in poor room and playground!

Read more english ref: Darkness in the "White House"

I love my homeland, I hate those parasites living by people's blood, I miss our great leader Chairman Mao!
I think all matters will be revealed soon! Just keep attention on this issue!

Cheers.

How old were you when you left China?

You're the first Chinese person I've met to admire Chairman Mao.

It's good to see you here again chaochao. Those irritating distractions that take people away from what they should be doing!! I wish you well to get up to date with your study. We or someone else will still be muttering in two weeks. Your chance to do your work is now.

Well these kids are getting an education. Pug_ster says some children get no education in China.

thank you anya! I will explain the sentence i said about Chairman Mao ( also answer orange dave's question).
I think that some of the current problems have something to do with the entirely wrong culture revolution by Chairman Mao, that big mistake broke down the traditonal chinese mores standards of honesty and straightness, when marketing economy started, people's greed soared with the wealth increased, and also due to lack of sound legal system and people's supervision, corruption rised badly!
But I said Chairman Mao here not for sarcasm, just because the current bad corruption made me miss the horrible punishment towards corruption by Chairman Mao, when new China was just established, war was over, two of Chairman Mao's followers (they met Chairman Mao in the Long March and they were just children that time) were detected that they corrupted official fund, in fact it was just about 20 thousand Chinese yuan as today's currency exchange, what they deserved? Shot to death!!
I know many people think Chairman Mao is a tyrant, but to the majority of Chinese ordinary people, Chairman Mao is always our praise, he liberated China from foreign invasion and domestic warlords!
Today, there are often news saying that some officials and alleged experts on laws propose to abolish capital punishment against corruption, will ordinary chinese people like workers and farmers want that happening? Towards corruption, I think the most efficient method is just to implement Chairman Mao's horrilbe punishment!
Sorry for the extreme opinion!

The first thing everybody I've talked to mentions when I bring up Mao is the Cultural Revolution...though of course he did these things as well, they kind of get overshadowed in most peoples' minds.

I remembered i never said i left China, i was just born and grew up here.
Yes, I know Chinese abroad don't admire Chairman Mao mostly due to his tyrant. But things are different here, we all know Chairman Mao's mistakes, we were also taught about Chairman Mao's mistakes in college, but regardless of his mistakes, nobody can deny that he is a great stateman and people's revolution leader, of course i don't like his policy, i just admire his achievement. he devoted all that he have to the liberation of chinese people, 7 lineal relatives including his son of Chairman Mao were killed during the revolution!
Most of students at my age in China respect Chairman Mao, he will always be a legend in China's history!

Chaochao, the problem is that, like many people in the world, you've given government power over your peaceful, honest, voluntary activities. Government's only legitimate function is punishing those who initiate force, fraud and coercion. If you'd like to read an in depth study of this, you can do so here.

People will take care of themselves if government will get out of their way and not impede them, as the philosopher Lao Tzu once noted:

"A country may be governed with justice,
And a war may be won with cunning,
But people can only be mastered by following them.
How can this be known?
By looking!
The more people are controlled, the poorer they become;
The poorer they become, the more restless they get;
the more restless they get, the more forcefully they are restrained.

When people are forcefully restrained, their defiance becomes ingenious.
And the more ingenious their defiance, the stranger are the things that happen.

Now when strange things begin to happen, laws and regulations become stricter;
Then stricter laws and regulations mean more criminals and fugitives.
Soon everyone is either a criminal or a fugitive,
And no one can untangle the mess.

Therefore,
The sage does nothing and people govern themselves,
Provokes no one and people are peaceful,
Does not interfere and people prosper,
Is without desire and people fulfill themselves.

The more people are controlled, the less contented they become.
But when will leaders understand the significance of this?"

-- Lao Tzu, tr. Ray Grigg; stanza 57-58 (trad.), 20-21 (MaWangTui)

yes, when we talk here, culture revolution is also unavoidable to mention, at least when i reminded Chairman Mao, culture revolution came to mind quickly, my parents grew up from that terrible period, whole country experienced great calamity, gun fights, injustic execution, even some of our officals admired by us like Liu Shaoqi, Deng Xiaoping couldn't be lucky to escape from that disaster!

Just tell you some stories my parents told me, my mon ever told me that her family were very poor at that time ( poverty was common at that period), Chairman Mao's policy didn't allow trading privately which was defined as capitalism and anti-revolution, but mom's family needed money, so they made a few steamed-bread to sell secretly to earn very little money, one day when my mom sold the steamed bread, she was detected by the alleged revolutionaries( rebelled group), she just ran and they pursued after, eventually mom ran into a toilet and was caught, they tore all steamed bread to pieces and threw them to the urinal, luckly my mom was just a child at that time and they didn't punish her! Mom told me that just to ask me to value today's peaceful life.
