Its not a matter of enforcing our views on China as it is the setting up of the minimum standards the whole world should be living in. China cannot be allowed to continue its unchecked hegemony without some serious change in policy and while many western cowards may never rise up against a Chinese communist hegemony I can guarantee the Midwest of the US will stand against this crap.

International opinion does matter even if you don't like it. . .
communist hegemony? good, who is the largest hegemony in the world? China? I think we may be when we are as strong as US!

I'm tired of these east vs. west generalizations.

And yes, the CCP is the hegemonic power within China.

And to the OP: this is why you don't ask a professor of Physics about politics and economics. While some people in the US might call foul to outsourcing, outsourcing is good for the economy. But of course, everything is one sided in the "west", otherwise the nationalists would have absolutely nothing to say about anything.

If I were you, I would go to this site China | Amnesty International and I would have a good look at the material.

Yes, it might hurt, yes it might throw me into confusion for a bit, but I would look. I would want to know what was going on.

Having done that, there is of course no need to do anything about it, you just will know.

If you do not want to know, then what are we talking for.

I think that you believe that to be aware of things that are going on in your country which are wrong indicates either something wrong with you or something wrong with your people.

Neither is true.

Perhaps it takes courage to look. It is your choice.

Amnesty International !!! 大赦国际!I know it, it is an orgnization like Reporters Without Borders, OH, god, I ever read worse than what they said from Falongkong, Free Asia, Free China and so on, do you believe now any chinese will believe what those groups report? Before March 14th, some may believe, but I think now few will do.
When a alleged objective and adiaphorous non-gov group criticizes a country on the bias of ideology and social system, they can distort any truth.
I often read their reports as funny stories, I would rather believe what I see and hear and feel here than what they say.

and this I think is the reason it is impossible to communicate with you and why you have a problem with the word truth.

Amnesty deals with human rights. It also criticizes States on that basis. Human Rights are pretty straight forward in that they are the same for every human being regardless of race, culture or anything else.

As you can clearly see in the Amnesty International website, it is not only China which is being mentioned for its human rights but also other countries as well including USA. All countries do have their own human rights problems such as Guantanamo Bay Detention. So, why criticised only China? I believe USA is violating a bigger human rights than is China. USA is dropping bombs and killing thousands of people in Iraq every month and according to you, China only forbids speeches and jailing of human rightists. So, who is more evil?

If you were saying China does not allow information being send out of the country, why don't you go over and see the real picture for yourself before bashing and spewing your lies based on what some crazy biased reporters are writing. Maybe you would be able to find out the truth. Maybe China is not that bad alterall.

The U.S. gets criticized fairly much and the response from Americans is not "look at the Chinese!" Focus diversion is one of the favorite and overused tactic of Chinese internet users.

Notice in the list of your first post, most of the things are done half-ass by the government, the rest is not true. Chinese never believed the term "sick men of east Asia" when first coined by the Japanese, the question is if people still see Chinese the same way and if you care or not.

Jesus Christ.

Look, the first line in that poem refers to China becoming a super power.

Well if you're going to be a super power, then you and your citizens better get used to being scrutinized and criticised. Ever other super power in the world can handle it, and its citizens don't get butthurt when people start wagging their finger and saying "remember when".

If you want to be a citizen of a "super power", grow a thicker skin. Nobody in this game has the moral high ground, least of all the Chinese. Double standards are par for the course. Get used to it and quityerbitchin'.

"My boss is going to the the greatest boss of all bosses, isn't that exciting? You know what? My sacrifice of income, family, health, and even blood helped to triple, quadriple his wealth and made him the most powerful boss of the world and I take pride in it. "

Nationalism is snake's venom to all people and separates them.
