Chinese indeed seem to have a tradition of eating animals that we would never consider - specially in the cases of exotic ones, like tigers (which is officially against the law but nontheless you can find them in different restaurants all over China), this is highly alarming. Also the use of animal parts for making traditional chinese medicines is surely a problem for the fauna of that country - I find it extremely regrettable. With the rapid growth and spreading of wealth, this problem, as I would call it, will only get worse.

It's not like they'r any better, but atleast they don't eat endangered species or use parts of them for "medicine", such as tigers (supposedly against arthritis and joint ailments), rhinos (suppesdly against fe ver) or bears (supposed to treat inflamation).

We have laws to protect endangered species, medicine use must get lawful permit, police supervise that very strictly. Of course due to the high profits, criminals could take the risk! Illegally gaining wild animals is heavey crime in China, criminals will be punished by criminal laws not civil laws, some are even shot to death! I think you don't know that in west area of China, every year there are a lot of policemen sacrifice in the battles with poachers, poachers are equipped with heavey weapons! 2 or 3 years ago there was a movie showing the fierce fight between policemen and animal protectors with the poachers.

I didn't dare watch!! Yes, it's about cruelty. I remember seeing Chinese people enjoying watching a live cow being fed to tigers in a zoo. They loved this.
It's about sensitivity.
I'm sure not all Chinese people are so insensitive....and of course we have horrid people enjoying dog fighting and going to all means to set it up.
Be a bit of a shame if such cruelty is part of their culture though!

that is not a part of chinese culture, I think the brutal people here learnt and imported that from western countries. We all know western people ever put man and wild beast in a venue to watch their fighting, or they caught native African and put them in cage to display as animal.

I didn't say China engaged in dog fighting chaochao, but some people do here in the UK and in the USA, though certainly in the UK it is illegal.
I guess you're talking about the Roman's with the ' We all know western people ever put man and wild beast in a venue to watch their fighting'. Thank goodness that stopped about 2000 or so years ago.
If you take the one I was talking about, we would feel it was cruel to put the cow in with the tigers where he was absolutely terrified and didn't have a chance.
Are you saying that the video I was too afraid to look at and the ideas expressed on the page with it are isolated incidents and not fair to Chinese people?
Chaochao, you are only responsible for what you yourself do and think...not for what anyone else Chinese or other does or thinks.

Chickens, pigs, cows, etc... are raised for eating so I'm not surprised that they are treated cruely. Here in the US there was a famous Football (American Football ) player who gets paid millions a year to see his career destroyed when he is owns a dog fight compound.

I know that some of you are sickened by seeing this, it is not illegal to kill cats and dogs in China for fur, much like how we treat chickens, pigs and cows for food here.
