I think your country media wouldn't tell you this! The Paris government say if tourch come here,we will have banner to say we don't welcome it!!If you are a chinese, will you still think French are friendly to Chinese?????

Do you have any evidence about this claim of yours? From what I've seen, the French police were working along with the Chinese police during the torch relay in Paris. They've both tried to stop protesters from blocking the relay and it was a pretty hard task around here as you can guess.
Personally, I wish Beijing to have happy Olympics with the rest of the world; and I'm human-friendly, thus chinese-friendly too. But if the PRC is viewing French as enemies because we dare to open our mouths about human rights, then it becomes the PRC's problem ~ freedom of speech.

(you would also have to get around the little constitutional thing that disallows states to leave the Union though) Putting up irrelevant and completely unlikely hypotheticals does not make your point. What are your reasons for forcing Chinese culture on a different one, and forcing the Tibetans to obey the Chinese?? Yes, we heard the Tibetans voice, and in a Democracy, the voice of the people matters, unlike China, even though its name is ironically "The People`s republic." Apparently by peoples they mean the party in control, and not the lowly regular people who inhabit the land.

I did not insult the Chinese. Although I will continue to insult the totalitarian government that rules China. The Dalai Lama has no intent to have slaves. He has always supported human rights. So Tibet is China`s toilet?? Why do you insult the Tibetans like that? You obviously don`t have any sense of what human rights are. YOU DID invade Tibet. They had sovereignty before China decided to invade for no reason. Iraq for 1 has nothing to do with this debate, and 2 yes, that is our democracy, that since we made a mistake by invading Iraq ( and we were attacked, we just did not handle the response right) and come November the presidency most likely will not be in the hands of the Republicans who made that mistake . So yes, this is our democracy that we can change when we go in the wrong direction. China has only one party, they cannot do this. BTW, Americans love Peace, but that doesn`t mean that we can always avoid war. We did not ask for September 11,2001. We did nothing to deserve that. Yet, 3,000 innocent civilians died that day we had to do something. Bush has screwed up, and that is why his party will lose next. All that is off topic though, you still haven`t given a reason why Tibet should be treated by China that way, except to call Tibet China`s "toilet" That statement was despicable.

——Mentioned said that (the argument) some of the pro-China elements
is making, Jack, is that this is a very different China today than
existed 10 years ago, certainly 20 or 30 years ago. This communist
regime today is almost like a capitalist regime. They are a huge economic
super power that we have a lot at stake in maintaining this economic
relationship with China.
Jack:Well, I don’t know if China is any different, but our
relationship with China is certainly different. We're in hock to
the Chinese up to our eyeballs because of the war in Iraq, for one
thing. They're holding hundreds of billions of dollars worth of our
paper. We are also running hundreds of billions of dollars' worth of
trade deficits with them, as we continue to import their junk
with the lead paint on them and the poisonous food; and
export, you know, jobs to places where you can pay workers a
dollar a month to turn out the stuff that we're buying from
Walmart. So I think our relationship with China has certainly changed.
I think they’re basically the same bunch of goons and thugs
they’ve been for the last 50 years.
——All right, Jack, stand by. I want everybody to standby, we
have a lot to talk about, including a battle of what’s some….
This is an CNN hoster's words.Don't you think it's despicable?????????????????sometimes you are so rude!!!!

Actually as I have said more than once on this forum, I really do like China. I have wanted visit there ever since I was a child, and even tried to learn to speak some Chinese. I do not, however like the government of China, because they are one of the world`s biggest violators of human rights. They stand for totalitarianism, and I stand for freedom and democracy. I think China`s government is improving, but I think the Tibet issue shows that they have a long way to go. I hope China does succeed and grow, but also that with that growth comes democracy, and freedom.

Yes, I think what he said was rude, and crude, but I also think that his statement was misunderstood. He was referring to the government in China, which really has not run things well for the last 50 plus years. I will agree however that he could have been a little more careful with the way that he said it.

Well, that is something you would have to ask him personally I guess. We have freedom of speech here, though, and he has the right to say whatever he wants. No one can really make him apologize. Oh well, I don`t really see why it is sucha big problem, he should be reprimanded or something, but that`s all.
