Why did you want to join it?
Is it the same as in Austria? Want that special job -> better be "member"...
Just with the difference that Austria is a more difficult place as there are two parties that really matter (in some regions even more), and you have to be educated in "colour-education" (black vs red) to know which party book is needed where. Of course if you are flexible you can undo "errors" of the past and get the right colour book ...
Granted, things are getting better nowadays in this regard, but the times where your party book is irrelevant in all jobs have to come yet.

Historically there have been many countries without political parties. Normally they are called monarchies and dictatorships.

This exists in China but I think only in government, state run businesses and military forces.
I don't want join those, but just sent an application as a showcase, or a safeguard, who knows what will happen in the future.

Sometimes What particularly are you referring to? I know what you quoted, but I can't see how that's a good thing.

Does that mean you are afraid that if you were not a member of the CCP, you might be persecuted?

Of course not, not persecuted. But you'd better join the party if you work in the government. Anyway, if you are minority(in race), you'd better not join the party, because have high possibility to get higher position, because you are the better present of the democracy or minority prefered. However, you cannot be chose as president or something highest, because you are minority, like in other country like UK, France,Germeny.....
