Please help my group / presentation

Hi guys!
I'm Ina and I'm student in germany. I have english advanced class and we must prepare a presentation. Our topic is "School/System/Pupil in South Africa" (South Africa is the main topic of this semester)
We wrote to a group of South Africans pupil but they didn't write back. Coul you help me?

Here is our mail:

Hey!!

My name's Ina and I'm one of the students from germany doing a project about school life and the life
experiences of young people in general. We already heard a lot about the time of apartheid and post-apartheid
so now we'd like to know something about it nowadays.
So here are a few questions we'd like to ask you...maybe later we'll write you some more
if that's ok. And if you are interested you could ask us some questions about our life in Germany, too...

1. First what's your name?
2. Where in SA do you live? (I totally forgot to ask your teacher )
3. How old are you?
4. Do you like going to school?
5. What languages do you speak?
And which one did you learn first?
6. Do you think it still makes any difference to be black, white or coloured or any other nationality in SA?
And if yes, did you ever experience anything that makes you think that?
7. At your school are the peoples forming groups after their skin colour or do all mix together?
8. Do you have friends from like all kind of ethnic groups?
9. In the area where you are living, are there living people of another skin colour, too?
10. Is it accepted among your classmates etc. if people of your age are together and they're of different skin colour
or doesn't it matter at all to you?

And one last thing, would you send us a picture from you...cause we have to do something special to get a good grade
and it would be really cool if we'd have a pic of you!!!

Bye
Ina

P.s.: My email adress: ina_kruse@web.de

Thanks!

Hey Ina. the problem is that it is now the loooong summer holiday in SA. Schools will only reopen in mid-January, andhave been closedfor about 3 weeks now.

I am a bit too old to answer your questions, as my country and the school system changed a lot since I left school.

But if you tell me which age group you are looking at, I will see if I can get someone to e-mail you.

We search for students between 15-19 years. That could be the reason why they don't answer. It would be great if you could find someone who could help us.

Sad that just one person answered. Do you know a message board or forum of african pupil? (it should be very active)

Try going to myspace for people of that age-group and just message them, they may be away from school but most people find ways of getting on myspace - so you can contact the same people and bug them during their vacation

Knowing that it's their vacation try and open up more about what they're up to for the vacation than just the dry questionnaire...I'm always enthusiastic to tell foreigners "how it is" about where I am - but I'm a bit out of this age group haha.
