A freeze on the settlement of refugees from Africa—including those from Sudan’s Darfur region—has been announced by the Australian government.
Immigration Minister Kevin Andrews said the refugees had trouble integrating, and other parts of the world such as Iraq and Burma were greater priorities.
The freeze will last until mid-2008, and there are no guarantees that Africans will be admitted after then.
Critics say it is a pre-election pitch to immigration-wary voters.
Mr Andrews said refugees from Sudan and conflict-torn Darfur were having problems integrating into Australian communities, and that trouble spots closer to home should take priority.
To that end, Africans are being replaced in the humanitarian refugee programme by people fleeing Iraq and Burma.
‘Xenophobic’ jibe
Australia has accepted or is processing about 3,900 Africans this year—30% of its total refugee intake.
Just two years ago they made up 70% of the total.
Critics have accused the government of a pre-election move to appeal to xenophobic voters, and they have also said it is absolutely wrong to argue that Africans are failing to integrate.
One community leader said they were making an immense contribution to the economy by taking jobs which many Australians simply did not want to do.
Certainly, there is a nativistic streak in parts of the Australian electorate.
In previous campaigns the Prime Minister John Howard government has benefited from concerns over immigration—especially in regional seats.
Only last year the town of Tamworth in New South Wales voted against hosting a trial refugee resettlement programme after the Sudanese were branded as criminals by the local mayor.
So fierce was the condemnation that the council was forced to reverse that decision.

When certain groups of people claim that whites are too stupid to protect their interests and countries from minority invasion and ruin, they will have to amend thier claim to, “SOME whites are too stupid to protect their interests, and countries, and will have to except Australia as a fine example of a people and country that has woken up to what awaited them if they allowed the minority invasion to continue. But they didn’t, and because of their very right decision Australia now has possibly the brightest future on any white country on planet earth. PCness be damned, Australia has choosen life and an assured good future over the horrors of falling prey to PCness, and minority ruination.

Isn’t it amazing? They had to actually import a large number of them to know that they’re propensity for crime and violence, and their low intellects are bad for their culture. I mean, couldn’t they look at the rest of the West beforehand and determine that all the problems they cause makes them long term liabilities?

The population of Australia is estimated at 21,105,000 people in 2007. The Sudanese population in Australia is estimated at 17500, which is 0.08% of the population. So for a population of 0.08% of the population they commit 1% of all reported crime (according to the Australian police) - more than 12 times their expected crime rate.

The Mayor of Tamworth didn’t brand the Sudanese as criminals. They branded themselves by their own criminal acts. Well over 80% of the town was opposed to receiving more of these people who displayed no regard or respect for the laws and mores of the community. But the tyrants controlling the purse strings and police forces in Sydney and Canberra forced Tamworth to submit to this invasion. Since that time, if these unwelcome intruders had wanted to hold some animistic festival in the main street on Australia Day, there would have been cries of racism against opposition. Now perhaps the Tamworthians can apply to Kevin Andrews for an apology, and they can eject these unwanted immigrants.
What Nick Bryant condescendingly describes as an election pitch to a “nativistic streak” is the stance that I want from the politicians I vote for. Unfortunately, the evil social engineers on both sides of politics are equally responsible for the revolting multicultural cold porridge Australia has become.
It is hard to see how officialdom did not realise the dangers inherent in importing tribesmen from a backward, impoverished country in a constant state of war; where the only law is what is imposed locally by the most powerful individuals; where violence and war are rites of passage, and where brutality is banal. Groups from Lebanon, Turkey, Vietnam and the Balkans, and islanders from the South Pacific, had already manifested similar ‘adjustment problems’, and their children continue to do so even when they are born in Australia. The problems for Sudanese, Somalis, Ethiopians and Eritreans are even greater, obviously. But for the sake of some cheap labour and easily manipulated voting blocs, the fiends in power are willing to imperil the country. It is curiously amusing that those who support the Sudanese uncritically say that it is racist to suggest they are not integrating well; that the Victorian Police Commissioner will not release pertinent crime figures, while insisting they are not significantly deviant; but that others who have access to such information, like the Mayor of Tamworth, and the Immigration Minister say the figures are disturbingly different. I know who I believe.

A freeze on all non-whites would not even be enough. In order to restore our countries, deportations must take place.
For change to happen, whites must begin at the grassroots level, convincing other whites that borders are the survival mechanism of our values and our genes.

Large parts of Australia’s major cities like Sydney and Melbourne are already Sudanese or Somali enclaves. If they’re not already Zimbabwean, Nigerian, Lebanese, Filipino, Indian or Pakistani enclaves. These new “regulations” will have little effect at all— it’s an election ploy, and besides, the restriction on African refugees does nothing to restrict reunification or other schemes for thousands of Africans to stream in. And it only replaces one Third World invasion with another.
I used to believe that Australia might be one of the Euro-based countries to survive our current wretched crisis, but now I doubt it. After having worked there frequently over the past 3 years, it’s now become clear that Australia is blundering in exactly the same direction as Britain is— self-destructing on the altar of “diversity” and political correctness, drowning out its White founding population in the process.

Why should cultures that have the highest birthrates overrun other cultures with low birthrates? Western countries’ open border policies to sub-Sahara Africans, who have the highest birthrates in the world, while everyone else is curtailing their birthrate, means extinction for low birthrate (far below replacement) European ethnic groups. Sub-Sahara Africa will never do its part to limit population growth as long as everyone else allows them to overrun their lands. Only when sub-Sahara Africans are forced to suffer the consequences of their own irresponsible lack of family planning, devil-may-care, will they ever do anything about it. The few remaining non-blacks in Africa are being chased out (Zimbawe, South Africa)by blacks. So why should white countries let these black Africans in to white countries?

Keep in mind Australia still accepts the highest number of refugees in the world per capita and is only second to the USA in total numbers. You can’t tell me Iraqis will intergrate better than Africans.
White English are traditionally the biggest imigration group to Australia. They should be reclassified as refugees considering what is going on in the Western Wrold. That would fill Australias 13000 refugee quota.
I’d also like to ask the head of the UN how many African refugees Korea takes per year.

That’s a question I’d like answered. The “Asian Tigers” and China don’t take in their share of the world’s refugees. That has to stop now! Why should we be the only ones expected to ruin our societies?

It’s amazing how the media breathlessly reports Australia’s environmental issues, such as drought and farming shortages, without making any reference to the effects of immigration. Why is the media advocating the introduction of high birth-rate non-whites on the one hand and, on the other, wondering if Australians can survive?
And why are whites constantly lectured that African and Asian refugees “deserve” are generosity (up to and including welcoming their settlement in white/mostly white countries)while whites in poor/war ravaged areas are completely ignored?

There is a need for an organization or program to help move the Caucasian population of Zimbabwe and South Africa to Australia.
I don’t know if such exists or not but this is a straightforward, bounded problem that could be solved and the readers and publishers of AmRen and like-minded people could get it started.
Australia would be the least traumatic move for them compared to the other Anglosphere nations.
Perhaps something modeled on the Lutheran Services organization that has been bringing Africans of African descent into Minnesota and elsewhere would be a way to get started.
I suspect there would be problems with government and tax issues since this would be for benefit of whites but that would have to be dealt with (and loudly enough that the media could not ignore
