Not much chance of that happening unfortunatley. Mugabe has most of the army and its generals onside. Threats of violence, should Mugabe lose next year's election, are already being made.

Brigadier General David Sigauke is threatening a military coup if Mugabe loses the coming election. He told soldiers at a graduation ceremony that Zimbabweans should vote wisely to defend their 'sovereignty' failing which the army would intervene. He is quoted as saying, 'as soldiers, we have the privilege to be able to defend this task on two fronts, the first being through the ballot box and second being the use of the barrel of the gun should the worse comes to the worst.'

So, in other words, vote for Mugabe or pay the consequences.

Well you probably are right. But it seems the people their just dont suffer enough yet. There comes a certain point when the entire country collapses, and might it be only economical...

But on the other side, we can see how in North Korea the regime still is able to keep itself at power... so perhaps you can really treat the people as bad as you like as dictator...

I wonder why everyone hates Mugabe so much. What makes him so much worse than the many other corrupt self interested leaders in Africa who oversee failing economies ? Could it be something to do with white farmers ? We sit back and watch countless ethnic Africans die each year but as soon as some wealthy white farmers lose some land we're all up in arms. I wonder why that is.

Oh and btw those white frmers would have got a fair deal had the British not reneged on the Lancaster House Agreement. I think we have to take Mugabe in the context of the region and remember the part played by external forces.

I dont get the point there are 40 other sub sahara countries that are as worse off as Z have a look at they GDP

Nope, it is not the white farmers. First - Mugabe is a relic from the past. Most African countries are turning around, having free elections, and their economies are booming. In another thread under Africa in here the growth figures for sub-sahara Africa is published, and Zim is not even close to the mark.

When the white farmers where evicted, there was some outcries, but it is done. The worst outcry against Bobby came after he evicted thousands of black people from the city in his infamous operation Clean Up.

And it is not only his corruption or economic incompetence that people are upset about - he is truly evil!

And i can assure you that in the British media there hasn't been such an outcry about any black African suffering as the white farmers got. That is the source of western hatred towards the Mugabe regime, you can link it to both race and class.
