The US has done more for Africa in the past 8 years than any other country. I know most of Africa is living in poverty and has to deal with Ruthless Dictators. But i think the People of Africa have to decide what hey want to do. They hold the key to their future in their hands. Just like every other civilization in this world. I'm with Shiva on this one. Our government shouldn't be in the business of charity. It's not the Congress nor the Presidents money to give away. It is the American Tax payers money.
And on the point of ending the war in Iraq and sending that money to Africa: I hate it when people say, "We could be using that money to rebuild America". I say Hell no to that! Thats not our money either, We are borrowing that money from other countries. So when the war in Iraq is over, we need to cut out that spending and eliminate alot more to help pay down our debt. It's time for the US to realize, throwing money at a problem wont solve that problem. Ideas solve problems, not more aid.
