These lies about whites being driven out of RSA was spread by paranoid whites after SA lift off all the apartheid machinery that killed the indigenous peoples Africa.

PAC in their slogans through their military wing, Apla used to sing songs of African Nationalism which was endorsed by the Black Consciousness moement of the great Steve Biko. That whites were going to be driven out of the country is utter hogwash and should be damned as the liberation and mass democratic movement, the ANC, has reiterated that Africa belongs to all who live in it including the minority white.

Is the problems in the larger extent in Africa due to a ill timed, ill conceived decolonization policy by the Western/European powers after WWII? would Africa have been better served to have remained as some kind of "Economic protectorate" for a longer time to ease the transition to self rule? as well as being able to maximize their natural resources?

And if I may add: your figures are wrong (again?)...the European Union is the largest donor of development aid in Africa (and the world)...

It's a pervert question, but a good one...
Natives wanted independece and the Europeans granted them quikly (look to India or to DR of Congo)...
Europeans had to grant independence anyway, but when they did it quikly the new formed countries probably would need the assistance from their former 'masters'...so in short: Natives wanted independence right away, and European countries gave it because there was no other solution and because it was in their advantage...

But if I may add...the Agreements of Yaoundé (1963-64), Lomé (1975, with the former British territories, the so called ACP countries) and Cotonou (2000)
between the European Economic Community (EEC) and the former colonies did provide in some way an economic protection...
The EEC granted former colonies entrace to the European market (NOT vice-versa)...but only for crops and natural minerals...
There was criticism, because it showed Africa was reduced to only a 'resource-provider'...
In the present there was protests in the World Trade Organisation (especially from Thailand, USA, Australia, Argentina, Brazil and New-Zealand) against the fact that the European market is open for African countries but not vice-versa...
Because of this the EU came up with a new concept: the European Partnership Agreements (or the EPA's):
- Africa has to open his borders for foreign products
- African countries need to open their borders between each other, the European Commission believes it will provide economic growth (like it did in Europe)

I know there is a lot of protest coming from NGO's against the EPA's, but the European Union will not take a huge profit from opening African borders...because European products are to expensive for Africans to buy.

Pervert Question? I think your syntax is a little off. It is a fair question if it is taken that the local populace may not have been in the best position to handle independence as quickly as it was given.

In dutch it's a common saying: 'Perverse Vraag', translated 'Pervert Question' because of the awnser on the question...not because you posted it!

Like I said the independence wasn't well prepared because it went quikly.
It went quikly because locals wanted it at once...Europeans granted it quikly because it was in their interest...

I can give you a whole explanation on the question 'why are third world countries underdeveloped', because the roots of that are a mix of colonisation and capitalism, that later on must be linked on economic growth and the lack of democracy...but I think there is a better thread for this: 'Why is Rescource-rich Africa poor'

So, the pervert question-thing was not a reference to you but to the awsner on the question...

And I may add: the local population wasn't prepared at all...because there wasn't one...
By this I mean, that in countries were normally a revolution takes place (you can see the decolonisation of a country as a revolution) there is normally a small group of society who takes the lead...
In these countries there wasn't a group like this, because Europeans prevented the creation of it. Because of this the independance-movement was carried by the mob (that wasn't proletarised) and that could only end up bad...but if you want to discuss it further, we probably must to do it in another thread, because this one goes about South Africa...

Superdude17, Do you really understand the real reasons why America
is the so-called number #1 provider for Africa? Its because Africa has
what America wants, and I call it simple trade or maybe being slick.

Well its the Damn truth, and all the American Government does care
about is what it can get. Africa is the richest Countries in the world,
and the American Government has created more shit then any other
nation on earth.

Hell, We are still there all throughout Africa, and the ONLY reason why
we have NOT left is because we are greedy. We are not in Africa to
protect or being peace, and how in the hell can we help another country
with our own Country in the financial shape its in?

In closing, Nobody begged our asses to stay in Africa. So stop acting
like we are doing the African people a favor.

Let us look at White European actions
in Africa as a whole.#1 The Belgians murdered and mutilates hundreds of thousands of indegenous blacks in the the Congo, #2the Portuguease slaughter
blacks in Angola, the #3Germans commit Genocide in Namibia,#4 the French enslave and slaughter thousands in Algeria
and in Senegal.#5the Italians invade and
murder Eithiopians during WWII, a African
country that had nothing to do with WWII
was invaded unilaterlly. And some of you are stating that Whites should live among
Black Africans?, please the White race history on the African continent is Terrible, if I were White I would Stay in
Euroupe just for my own personal safety.
Black African do not forget the past as easily as us westerners. They hold grudges for many years according to what has been done to them. Please, I ask White Europeans think about reparations for Black Africans that you and your White European countrymen have stolen from and continue to steal
from!!.
