Depends on what you consider "vulgar" and what you consider "censorship."

Too many people believe that everything a broadcasting company should be all about them and no one else. If a fundamentalist Christian says witchcraft and God-like powers is "vulgar" and shouldn't be displayed, then you'd have to cancel a whole host of shows on television that make profits for the broadcasting companies.

It's all about dollars and ratings--not censorship or propaganda.

Look how easily people just threw out the word "censorship" in this topic. It is pathetic. The 1st Amendment only applies to government abridging freedom of speech. A private company can shut you up ASAP if they want to. Now of course the way we read things today, that is no longer the case. But that is only due to the inability of the US to educate itself
You mean, that it's only do the inability of SOME in the US to educate itself? Or were you talking about yourself here as well? (I made the same mistake in another thread, so I know how easily one can mess up with this )

But overall, if you're calling for a broadcasting company to meet your druthers, rather than those of its viewing audience--it is indeed censorship.

I dont watch much TV anymore b/c of the vulgar content. Sex and language are thrown into movies simply to fill in time and to saturate the pedophile needs our people today.
Child pornography is a federal crime. If this is what is airing on your television, I wouldn't be watching it either. You should report any instances that you see. Just switching off the tube doesn't protect the innocents being exploited.

My kids dont watch anything with cuss words or sex in it. I wont allow it. Which means they dont get to watch much TV, which is a good thing anyways. I dont let them play hours of video games either. I kick them outside to play unlike most parents who will let them do anything to just "keep them out of our hair for awhile".

And kicking them loose into the neighborhood with no parental supervision is a not just keeping them "out of your hair awhile" either?

I'm happy to report that my 14yr.old and his friends often spend time at my house in our rec room playing video games during the weekends. I prefer it to him running wild in the community getting into God knows what somewhere else.

The 1st Amendment applies only to government encroachment upon its citizenry, it says nothing about private companies taking off bad entertainment during family hour TV.
Which I stated above only happens if the ratings decline and there's a loss of advertising dollars. People are tuning into these programs you don't like, so saying the TV stations shoud remove them is an attempt to censor what others are watching. Like it was suggested before--just change the channel--or pop in a video, or do what you're doing now--don't watch. But don't complain that the free market isn't giving you what you want

Everytime I turn on the TV during the week, which use to be family hour around 7PM, you could get a funny show, that wasn't political propaganda for gays or some other political movement.
Well, maybe you're not switching to the right channel? One of our favorites is AFV. I can't think of any propaganda in that show--unless you want to construe some sort of "stupid people tricks"

Others we enjoy: Heroes, Supernatural, Lost. We also tune into shows like "Are you Smarter Than A Fifth Grader", "American Idol" and it's spin off "American Inventor" etc. That's all I can think of right now.

Now that is all it is. And it ain't worth a minute of viewership. Probably why I have cut my cable completely. It isn't worth the money you spend on it anymore.
That's a shame, there's some good, educational shows on the Discovery channel and Discovery for kids is awesome. We recently finished watching the "earth" series narrated by Sigorney (sp?) Weaver on National Geographic. "Blue Planet" was another the kids loved.
