Superdude--reading a few partisan articles about MLK is not the same thing as having your facts right.
MLK would never have supported the Republican party of today. Never, not in a million years. He would have more than likely aligned himself publicly with Cindy Sheehan--that's how far "left" he actually was.

And here we are ten thousand miles away from home fighting for the so-called freedom of the Vietnamese people when we have not even put our own house in order. And we force young black men and young white men to fight and kill in brutal solidarity. Yet when they come back home that can’t hardly live on the same block together."

On a Guaranteed Annual Income:

On an Affirmative Action style program:

There's more, of course, but I would say that these positions are in direct conflict with the GOP of today.
