I don't think that is because the Democrats are trying to run a female and a black candidate as much as it is because they have a large portion of black voters, and because they happen to have a very prominent female candidate who wants to run for President. I don't think that the Republicans have a female candidate so prominent who wishes to run for President, and the Democrats only have Hillary at the forefront so I don't think that we can really draw the point that you are trying to make.
