Why do we think that it is impossible to go beyong the speed of light? Because nothing that we have every created in any lab, or observed anywhere in the natural world has done. Positrons, Quarks, Neutrinos, Dark matter (still has some digging to do), or anything else can't do it.
Maybe there's something hiddin in Dark Matter that might led us to an answer. That's what a lot of Scientists hope. But research is horribly slow and we are still try to isolate it, let alone do high tech experiments on it.

perhaps were looking at it from the wrong angle,or at least overthinking, maybe we dont need to break the speed of light, basically were trying to travel through nothing, there has to be a way to get from one point of nonethingness to another point without traveling the distance inbetween
