Strangely, on this occasion, I agree with Chookie. Honest analysis seems to be taken as anti-American. I suppose not too surprising in the current climate where the US is so unpopular, but sometimes it appears almost fanatical...
I lived and was educated in part in the US, so I was aware of the concept of political isolationism and so on. I understand that anti-communism was rife in the post-war era, but it seems to be still. Whenever anyone shows support of communism or socialism it seems to cause consternation.
Haven't heard too much bragging going on. That is a bit of a stereotype, but only one or two posters have displayed this.
And finally, the US posters on the whole are very well-mannered and polite, with the usual percentage of wackos. The biggest problem I have is they don't get our humour. Had the same problem when we lived there, the humour is different. I found Canadians had a sharper wit, or perhaps just more similar to ours.
