I wasn't there, but I would venture a guess that discrimination occured back in the "cave man" days. Unless you believe the Geiko ads.

I think it's ingrained in human nature. Even children will differentiate (which is different than discrimination) either on gender, likenesses, etc.

We tend to migrate toward that which we can relate to. If we aren't "urban" inclined, we move to the country, and vice-versa. If we enjoy drinking at a bar, we tend to make friends who do the same. If we enjoy going to church, same thing.

There simply will never be complete solidarity.
